1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the CADence website or participating in CADence events, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or participate in our events.

2. Event Participation

Eligibility

CADence is open to all NJIT students who have completed:
- Make101 Makerspace certification
- Make103 Makerspace certification
- Event Registration

Registration does not guarantee a spot. We reserve the right to limit attendance based on capacity and close registration at any time.

Conduct

Participants must:
- Treat all attendees, judges, volunteers, and organizers with respect.
- Follow all NJIT Makerspace safety guidelines.
- Use provided materials responsibly.
- Adhere to strict standards of academic integrity (no plagiarism).

Violation of these rules may result in disqualification from the event and removal from the venue.

3. Intellectual Property

Your Work

You retain ownership of all designs and prototypes you create at CADence. By participating, you grant CADence permission to photograph, record, and feature your work in promotional materials (website, social media, presentations).

Event Materials

All CADence: Additive Design Jam branding, logos, and promotional materials are the property of CADence organizers and may not be used without prior written permission.

4. Materials and Equipment

Provided Materials: All materials and components are provided by CADence. Teams may only use materials supplied by organizers to ensure a fair competition.

Personal Equipment: Participants are responsible for their own laptops and personal belongings. CADence is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

5. Prizes and Awards

Prize distribution is at the sole discretion of CADence organizers and judges. All decisions are final. Prize amounts are subject to change based on sponsorship and funding availability.

6. Liability Waiver

By participating in CADence, you acknowledge that:

- You participate at your own risk.
- CADence organizers are not liable for injuries, accidents, or damages occurring during the event.
- You are responsible for following all safety protocols in the NJIT Makerspace.

7. Photography and Media Release

By attending CADence, you consent to being photographed, recorded, or otherwise documented for promotional purposes. These materials may be used on our website, social media, and in presentations to sponsors or university administration.

Opt-out: If you do not consent, please notify us in writing at aoa66@njit.edu or iio3@njit.edu before the event begins.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

CADence is a free event. In the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, registered participants will be notified via email. We are not responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of our website or participation in events constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.
